Lent is often a time that we list our deficiencies, or habits we want to change. We give up on something and practice removing it from our lives.
Lent is a time for abstinence.
But today I want to switch things around. What makes you a Christian? Or a Catholic? Or any other religion or spiritual practice your follow? What is it that defines what you do and how you live what you profess you are?
Whatever your religious/spiritual foundation, what evidence is there to bolster that claim?
Take a moment right now and list those decisions or actions that define your spiritual call. Sure, you can add going to services. But even more deeply, what actions, which decisions, what do you do on a daily basis that defines your spiritual practice?
The list – or lack of list – might surprise you.
